HOUGHTON, NY - On Saturday, May 6, the Houghton College Equestrian Center will host a Western NY Dressage Association (WNYDA) Challenge Series Dressage Show. The event begins at 8:00 a.m. and is free and open for public viewing.
This event provides regional riders an opportunity to demonstrate dressage and riding skills, receive scores and feedback, and compete for ribbons and WNYDA series awards.
“The schooling dressage show is a great event for those who have never shown before, are wanting to move up a level, or want to get their horse out of the barn after the winter months,” remarks Larissa Strappello, instructor and equestrian center facility manager. “It is a fun and laid-back atmosphere where we are focused on the learning opportunities that take place while showing.”
Houghton’s equestrian facility was named one of the 20 Most Amazing College Equestrian Centers by Best Value Schools earlier this year, alongside universities such as Michigan State, Penn State, Stanford, and Kentucky.
