Obituary: Emma F. Miles, 74, Hallsport


Emma F. Miles, 74, of Hallsport, NY, died Friday, April 7, 2017 in Manor Hills, Wellsville, NY following a courageous battle with cancer.  Born July 31, 1942, in Wellsville, she was the daughter of Edward and Katherine Currier Brundage.  She was married to Elmer E. Miles, who predeceased her in 1998.  She was employed by the Modern Diner in Wellsville, Herbert Cooper Co. in Genesee, PA, and Peterson’s Nursing Home in Wellsville.  Emma was a member of the Current Events Club in Whitesville, NY, Whitesville Volunteer Fire Co. Auxiliary, Willing Volunteer Fire Co. Auxiliary, and Frank B. Church VFW Post #2530 Auxiliary.  She enjoyed bingo, crocheting, driving her Chevy S-10 truck, going to the Potter County Fair in Millport, PA, NASCAR, and was a Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan.  Surviving are:  four children, Monica (Jack) Ordway of Whitesville, Linda (Bob Hults) Landcastle of Andover, Kathy (Dave Tredway) King of Olean, NY, and Charles (Kelly) Miles of Hallsport;  a step-son, Roy Costley of Mills, PA;  nine grandchildren, Tracy (Brad) Field, Loretta (Craig) Hamilton, Matthew (Bonnie) Stebbins, Haley (Samantha) Landcastle, Chad (Larisha Barnett) Copenhaver, Amanda (Jeff) Martin, Tasha (Jordan) Schery, Linden Miles, and Nathan Miles;  12 great-grandchildren;  four siblings, Gene (Joanne) Brundage of Ellisburg, PA, John (Candy) Brundage of Wellsville, Josephine Kibbe of Galeton, PA, and Annette Baker of Bradford, PA;  a sister-in-law, Alice Brundage of CA;  nieces, nephews, and cousins.  In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Miles Clark;  and a brother, George Brundage.  A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 13, 2017 in the Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home, Wellsville, NY.  The Rev. Gene N. Miller will officiate.  A luncheon will follow the service at Frank B. Church VFW Post in Wellsville.  Burial will be in Hallsport Cemetery at a later date.  Memorials may be made to Frank B.
