CERES, Pa. — Chester R. Eaton, 74, of Kings Run Road, passed
away Monday (April 3, 2017) at Hamot Medical Center in Erie surrounded by his
loving family.
Born July 8, 1942, in West Hickory, he was a son of Fred and
Eva Freeman Eaton.
Chet was a 1961 graduate of Otto-Eldred High School. He had
resided in Erie for 30 years prior to moving back to King’s Run in 2005.
Mr. Eaton was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served
with the United States Navy. He was employed by the General Electric Company in
Erie for 30 years prior to his retirement in 2005.
Chet loved sports, especially football, and was an avid
Cleveland Browns fan; he also had coached Little League Baseball in Erie, as
well as fifth- and sixth-grade girls basketball in Oswayo Valley. He was also
an avid bowler and was active in several leagues and teams in the area. He was
a member of the Eldred Township Fire Department. Chet liked to hunt, and had
also enjoyed country music and attending country music concerts with his longtime
companion, Barb.
Surviving are two sons, Michael (Pam) Eaton of Eldred and
Brian (Robin) Eaton of Olean, N.Y.; a daughter, Deborah Moyer of Erie; seven
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Fred (Diane) Eaton Jr.
of Smethport; two sisters, Cookie (Milford) Green of Eldred and Lynn (Doug)
Church of Enfield, Conn.; as well as several nieces and nephews. He is also
survived by his longtime companion with whom he resided, Barb Green.
He was preceded in death by his former spouse, Mioko Eaton;
and a brother, Gary Eaton, in 2014.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. on Thursday (April 6,
2017) at the Frame Funeral Home in Eldred, at which time funeral services will
be held with the Rev. Ricky L. Price, Pastor of the Church of Christ in Bradford,
officiating. Burial will be in Lamphier Cemetery in Eldred.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Eldred Township
Fire Hall.
