Belmont man receives minor jail time for heroin arrest

A Belmont man who possessed and sold heroin in Wellsville 19 months ago will spend a few months in jail. Roy W. Austin, 31, was sentenced to six months in jail. Austin was originally charged with two class B felony crimes, but in court, his lawyer cut a deal and Austin pleaded guilty to a C level felony offense. Prosecutors said that on September 4, 2015, Austin possessed and sold heroin to a Wellsville police Confidential Informant. Judge Thomas Brown also ordered to pay $25 restitution and serve a five year probation sentence.
