A Pennsylvania State Trooper was uninjured when his Ford Interceptor patrol vehicle struck a bear on East 2nd Street in Sweden Township. The accident happened at 10:27 p.m. September 11th, but the crash report was just released. According to state police, 29-year-old Trooper Christopher R. Gray of Coudersport was traveling east. The report said “a bear was in the same travel lane.” The Trooper “was unable to avoid impact with the bear. The bear left the roadway.” The police vehicle sustained cosmetic and mechanical damage that “rendered it inoperable.”
