Diane E. Dow Lovell “beloved wife, sister, and aunt”
COUDERSPORT, Pa.---Diane E. Dow Lovell, 67, a longtime resident of Coudersport and a native of Austin, passed away in her home with her loving husband and sister by her side on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, after a long illness.
Born on Sunday, September 13, 1953, in Coudersport, she was a daughter of Harold F. and Frances Dow. On July 4, 1988 in Austin, she married Michael M. Lovell, who survives.
Diane was a graduate of Austin High School, Class of 1971.
She was employed in the banking industry, first in Williamsport and later in Austin and Coudersport. Diane retired due to ill health from Commonwealth Bank (now Northwest).
Diane was a member of the Austin United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher. She volunteered for the Austin Pride Committee and was a member of the Austin Ambulance Company where she previously served as president of the association.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband; a sister, Doris C. Dow of Allentown; three brothers, Dennis C. (Sharon) Dow of Bradenton, Florida, Daniel E. Dow of Austin, and Dean M. (Cathy) Dow of Coudersport; three stepsons, Jason Lovell, Eric Lovell, and Scott Lovell; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Diane was predeceased by an infant son, Matthew Scott Lovell; and four brothers, David M. Dow, Douglas M. Dow, Donald R. Dow, and Duane F. Dow.
Family and friends may call from 1pm to 2pm on Friday, October 23, 2020, at the Austin United Methodist Church, Turner Street, Austin. Private funeral services will be held for the family with Pastor Todd Lamer, of the Austin Keating United Methodist Charge, officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Austin.
In keeping with COVID-19 restrictions, proper face coverings and social distancing will be observed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Diane’s name may be made to the Coudersport Volunteer Ambulance Association, PO Box 651, Coudersport, PA 16915; to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959; or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Diane’s family has entrusted her care to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
