Jim Knapp Joins FCCB to Serve the Business Community

MANSFIELD, PA (October 2020) Business owners know the recipe for success includes finding a reliable financial partner with industry knowledge and a desire to help the business community thrive. First Citizens agrees! So, they’ve added Jim Knapp to their Business Banking Team in Wellsville and Potter Counties. Knapp brings experience as a banker and business owner to the partnership. In fact, he has over 30 years’ experience in banking and is a co-owner of Wellsville Brewing Company. This is a big deal to local business owners because it means Knapp understands their needs. And as a banker, he can customize solutions. Knapp also understands the needs of the local Ag Community; he grew up on his family’s 100+ cow dairy farm.

Knapp is a native of Wellsville, so he knows the market and surrounding regions well. Most recently, he worked as the SVP, Senior Retail Lender at Steuben Trust Co. in Hornell. Previously, he worked for Community Bank, N.A. as a VP, Commercial Lender.

“Although securing credit is critical for most business owners, they are looking for more from their banker,” commented Jeff Wilson, EVP, Chief Lending Officer. “Jim’s diversified experience brings great value to the partnership.  And it isn’t just Jim’s experience and knowledge of the market that makes him the right addition to our team, he also shares our mission of building better communities. He’s a great fit for First Citizens.”

Knapp’s dedication to the community started in his youth, as he learned from his parents about the importance of giving back. Today, he is a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Allegany Chapter, Elks Lodge #1495, sits on the Board of Trustees of Alfred State College, and is a member of the Board of Directors at Jones Memorial Hospital. Knapp was also the 2014 recipient of the Spirit of Wellsville Award for his many years of volunteering and giving back to the community.
