Belfast couple charged in numerous burglaries across Allegany County

A man and woman from Belfast each face numerous felony counts for a string of burglaries throughout Allegany County between July 31st and September 26, 2020. Amity-based State Police arrested 40-year-old Joshua L. Maxwell. He was charged with eight felony counts of burglary. Troopers also arrested 41-year-old Marian K. Nersinger. She faces five counts of felony burglary. State Police said the spree involved crimes in West Almond, Birdsall and the Towns of Angelica, Belfast and Allen. Maxwell was additionally charged with criminal mischief and they were both charged with possession of burglar tools and criminal possession of a controlled substance. Maxwell was arraigned and remanded to the Allegany County Jail without bail. Nersinger was also sent to jail with bail set at $5,000 cash or $60,000 property bond.
