Pa. Dept. of Health has confirmed another positive test for COVID-19 coronavirus in Potter County. DOH said an unnamed resident of the Coudersport area, identified only as residing in the 16915 ZIP code, has contracted the virus. It’s the first positive test since July 21. Three neighboring counties also reported additional coronavirus cases between Thursday and Friday. Four more cases were confirmed in Lycoming County. three more in Clinton County and an additional case in Tioga County. Statewide, the case count grew by 829 to 122,750, with 36 more deaths for a new total of 7,445. Current area numbers are as follows: Cattaraugus, 169 cases, 6 deaths; Tioga, 41 cases, 3 fatalities; Potter, 21 cases; McKean, 34 cases, one death; Lycoming, 430 cases, 20 fatalities; Allegany, 84 cases, 2 deaths; Cameron, 8 cases; Clinton, 128 cases, 5 fatalities; and Elk, 54 cases, 2 deaths.
Meanwhile, Potter County Commissioners Nancy Grupp, Barry Hayman and Paul Heimel are still accepting applications for grants to assist businesses and non-profit organizations adversely affected by the pandemic. Three testing sites for the COVID-19 coronavirus remain available in Coudersport.
