Eliza J. Bundy “beloved mother and grandmother”
AUSTIN, Pa.---Eliza J. Bundy, 85, a longtime resident of Austin, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 6, 2020, in UPMC Cole, Coudersport.
Born on Sunday, December 23, 1934 in Hartsville, N.Y., she was a daughter of Otto J. and Hattie Hale Woodworth.  On April 16, 1977 in Austin, she married Leon R. Bundy, who passed away on October 14, 2014.
Eliza was a graduate of Canisteo Central High School, Class of 1952.  After graduation from high school, Eliza was employed by First State Bank in Canisteo and later as a cook in many area restaurants.
Eliza was a member of the Austin United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher while she attended the church; she was a member of the Austin Free Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer; and was a member of the Coudersport Senior Center.  Eliza was a member of TOPS.  She was a Girl Scout leader in Austin. She enjoyed plastic canvas crafts. She loved to play bingo, but her greatest love was her family.
Surviving are four children, Garry M. (Dawn) Bacon of Austin, Vicki L. (Mark) Mahon of Danville, Indiana, Sandy K. (Bill) Witwer of Melville, Montana, and Randy S. Bacon of Chesapeake, Virginia; three step-children, Keith Bundy of Niagara Falls, N.Y., Leon Robert “Bobby” (Lee) Bundy of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Sheryl Johnson of Michigan; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter;  eight brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Eliza was predeceased by a son, Danny Bacon; and a sister and two brothers.
A celebration of Eliza’s life will be held on a date, time and place to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Eliza’s name may be made to the Austin Free Methodist Church, Costello Avenue, Austin, PA 16720.
Eliza entrusted her care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
