Branch Manager, and ACUW Board President Abbie Pritchard presents Allegany County United Way with a donation on behalf of First Citizens Community Bank. “We are grateful for the continued support and generosity we receive from First Citizens and for all the good they do for our community” ACUW Director, Amanda Joyce-Phelps stated.
Allegany County United Way is inviting local human service agencies to submit letter of intent for the 2020-21 grant cycle. According to ACUW Director, Amanda Joyce-Phelps, the Letter of Intent is the first step in the funding proposal process. Qualifying organizations must be able to demonstrate how an Allegany County United Way partnership would provide a positive impact in our community within the area of Health, Education, Income Stability and/or Critical Needs.
To be eligible for United Way funding, agencies must provide services in Allegany County, and must hold a 501[c] (3) designation from the Internal Revenue Service, which signifies not-for-profit status. Agencies must have an operating board of directors and established fiscal oversight controls. Other factors considered in funding eligibility include the portion of the agency’s budget spent on programming and access to other funding sources. Top priority is given to agencies that demonstrate the impact their programs have within the county with documented outcome data.
Letters of intent to request funding are due February 21, 2020. Directions for submission are on the Allegany County United Way website at www.acuw.com. To request further application information, or to request information regarding how to serve on one of the local Community Impact Councils, please contact Amanda Joyce-Phelps, Director, at (585) 593-0020, email the United Way office at acuw@acuw.com, visit the website at www.acuw.com. or write to PO Box 15, Wellsville, NY 14895.
