Cuba couple charged with negligent homicide in death of infant

On Thursday, October 3rd, 2019, at approximately 5:00 p.m., following an in-depth investigation into the death of an infant in the Village of Cuba, Cuba Police arrested Whitney R. Barrett, 21, of Cuba and Rashawn D. Gillispie, 21, of Cuba on charges of felony criminally negligent homicide and endangering the welfare of a child.

Both were arraigned in court and remanded to the Allegany County Jail. Bail for each was set at $50,000.  Cuba Police were assisted by Allegany County Child Protective Services and the Allegany County District Attorney’s Office.
