Agricultural producers are invited to attend one
of Cornell Cooperative Extension’s “Preventing Sexual Harassment on Farms”
discussions. |
ELLICOTTVILLE, NEW YORK – Cornell
Cooperative Extension’s Southwest New York Dairy, Livestock & Field Crops
Program (SWNYDLFC) is working to help farm owners, agricultural employers, and
human resource managers better understand the new NYS Sexual Harassment
Prevention Regulations which go into full effect on October 9th,
2019. To better serve the region’s farmers, there will be a series of lunchtime
discussions offered to help farms ensure they are in compliance.
Katelyn Walley-Stoll, Farm Business Management
Specialist with SWNYDLFC will be leading the discussion. She will discuss the
regulations and associated deadlines, resources available to farm employers,
and understanding compliance for your business. For additional resources and
information on Agricultural Workforce Development from Cornell, visit
agworkforce.cals.cornell.edu.
Each event will run from 11am to 1pm and will
supply a light lunch and handouts. Minimum participation is 5 farms for each
location, and maximum is 20 farms. Discussion locations without adequate
registrations on the RSVP date will be cancelled. Please check www.swnydlfc.cce.cornell.edu for the
latest updates and plan to register early. Register by calling Katelyn at
716-640-0522 or emailing kaw249@cornell.edu. This
discussion is for employers and HR managers – not a training for employees.
