Rape, other counts filed against Bolivar man - Bail set at $50,000 cash
A Bolivar man is in jail on $50,000 cash bail – accused of
several sexually-related crimes. State Police Thursday afternoon arrested
48-year-old LeRoy W. Nupp. He was charged with three felony counts of
third-degree rape as well as four lesser counts of child endangerment and a
single count of sexual abuse. The alleged crimes occurred in the Town of
Bolivar and were reported September 12th. State Police Investigator Cyle Pomeroy said "the charges come following a lengthy investigation which revealed that Nupp had been involved in a sexual relationship with a child less than 17 years old." Nupp was arraigned in Bolivar court and
remanded to the Allegany County Jail. Bail was set at $50,000 cash or $100,000
bond. Further court action is pending.
