Travel Advisory - NY Rt 415 Bridge over Salmon Creek, Avoca, Steuben County

The New York State Department of Transportation today announced that work will begin Monday, April 22, 2019, in the town of Avoca on NY Route 415, located just south of Michigan Hollow Road, Steuben County. Work will include the construction of a new bridge to cross Salmon Creek.
To complete this work, it will be necessary to detour NY Route 415 traffic.  Northbound travelers will be diverted to NY 53 in the Hamlet of Kanona, then to Interstate 86 W to Interstate 390 N to Exit 1, located in the town of Avoca. Southbound travelers will use Michigan Hollow Road, located in the town of Avoca to access Interstate 390 S, then merge onto Interstate 86 E to Exit 37 to NY Route 53, Kanona. A separate bicycle detour is also provided using local roads. It is the goal of the department to have the bridge and approach work completed and have all traffic diverted back to the original alignment by mid-August, 2019. Incidental work, such as tree planting, will be completed in the fall of 2019. This work will be completed using short term lane closures and is expected to have a minimal impact on traffic.
