Andover police make an arrest following brief high speed ATV chase

Andover police arrested a man Saturday following a high speed chase involving two UTV’s. Police took 24-year-old Joseph Greenan of Wellsville into custody. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, BAC above .08%, failure to comply with a police officer, speed in zone, no helmet, unsafe lane change and unregistered ATV. Andover Police Chief James Rumfelt issued a press release stating:
The charges were filed after an attempt to stop two UTV's on West Greenwood Street in the Village for traveling at a high rate of speed on the wrong side of the road. The UTV's led Andover Police on a brief pursuit up County Route 22 that ended with the UTV operated by Joseph Greenan being stopped at the intersection of County Road’s 22 and 30 in the Town of Andover. During the pursuit the UTV's continued to operate on the wrong side of the roadway.   Joseph was transported to the Wellsville Police Department where a breathalyzer test was administered in which he allegedly registered a blood alcohol content of .11%.  Greenan was issued tickets to appear in Town of Andover Court on April 15, 2019 at 5 p.m.
