SUMMER YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM
(SYEP 2019)
What is SYEP?
SYEP is a chance for eligible youth ages 14 – 20 living in Allegany County to gain
paid work experience, solid work habits and strong employment references.
Tell me more!
Youth are placed on jobs with local businesses, schools or agencies.
Youth work part-time for five or six weeks, and earn $11.10 per hour.

Who can apply?
Allegany County youth ages of 14 and 20 as of July 1, 2019 can apply for SYEP.
Older youth are given first consideration for jobs.
We are especially looking for OUT-of-SCHOOL youth – whether you graduated or not!
How do I apply?
Applications are available through:

· Allegany County school Guidance Offices
Applications are due on May 3, 2019
In-school youth should hand in applications at their guidance office.
Out-of-School youth should hand in applications at the Employment & Training Office.
