OLEAN-Viola C. “Vi” Shaw, 96, of Olean and a former longtime resident of Bolivar, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 13, 2018, in Wellsville Manor, Wellsville, after a short illness.
Born on February 20, 1922 in Uniontown, she was a daughter of Alfred and Rita Johnston Chain.  On April 29, 1945, in the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Shinglehouse, Pa., she married the loved of her life, John H. Shaw, who passed away on March 5, 2017.
Vi grew up in Shinglehouse and Franklinville, where her parents started Christian and Missionary Alliance Churches, including the church she was married in and was a member of for many years.  Vi enjoyed playing the piano at church and at home for her family.  She enjoyed being a homemaker and enjoyed babysitting many of the neighborhood children.  Her greatest love was spending time with her children and grandchildren, for whom she prayed for daily.
