Voters from across the 23rd Congressional district (southern tier of New York) are invited to gather in Olean, New York, for a unity rally on Saturday, July 14th, in support of Tracy Mitrano. Mitrano, a cybersecurity expert who was recently declared the winner of the Democratic Congressional primary, is running to unseat incumbent Rep. Tom Reed in November. She has also been endorsed by the Working Families Party and the Women’s Equality Party.
The rally will take place at 2:00 p.m. in Lincoln Park, located in the center of Olean at the corner of State Street and Union Street. Live music by local band "not Norman" will begin at 1:30 p.m. Attendees should bring their own chairs or blankets if they wish to sit. In case of rain, the event will be moved to John Ash Community Center, 112 N. Barry Street.
The rally, which will last approximately an hour, will include brief speeches by Mitrano and most of the other Democrats who vied for the nomination. Tables will be available for people from various counties to register to vote, pick up an absentee ballot, or sign up to help with Mitrano’s campaign.
The event is sponsored by NY23 United, a coalition of over thirty grassroots activist groups from across the 23rd Congressional district.
