Myrna was raised in Hornell and was a 1955 graduate of
Hornell High School. She was first employed at Corbin's Woodworking in Hornell,
and later for Alfred State College. In August of 1967 she and Dominick moved to
Wellsville, and she began her career at Wellsville Central School. She retired
on August 4, 1999 as the Secretary to the Director of Pupil Personal Services.
She was an avid flower gardener, and birdwatcher. She enjoyed reading, watching the Buffalo Sabres, and the
New York Yankees.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Roger
(Jill) Petersen and Andrew Petrelli, both of Wellsville, three step-grandsons,
Aaron (Mary) Hess, Dustin (Florina) Hess, and Christian Hess, two
sisters-in-law, Santa (Walt) Cleveland, and Mary Petrelli, both of Hornell, as
well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her first
husband, Roger Petersen, and a son, Jeffrey A. Petersen.
At Myrna's request; the memorial service will be private.
