HOUGHTON, NY  – Houghton College will open its 29th Annual Student Juried Art Exhibition on Saturday, March 10th at 6:00 p.m. in the Ortlip Art Gallery. The event is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
The exhibit is an open invitation for all current Houghton students to submit work from a variety of mediums, including painting, printmaking, sculpture, animation, and digital video.
“This annual exhibition is an exciting opportunity to recognize and celebrate the hard work and dedication of students at Houghton who work in visual art,” says Alicia Taylor-Austin, assistant professor of art and printmaking and director of exhibitions.
Entries in this year’s exhibit will have the opportunity to win best in show, first place, second place, and honorable mention awards. Additionally, Houghton College President Shirley A. This year’s juror is multimedia artist Romy Hosford, professor of art and digital media at Roberts Wesleyan College.
The Ortlip Gallery is an all-purpose exhibition space that presents a diverse range of innovative exhibitions and educational programs that offer insights into the works of established and emerging regional, national, and international artists and designers.

The gallery is open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and the Student Juried Exhibition will be featured until Friday, April 6.
