Andover Free Library Receives ACAF Grant

Linda Adams, Andover Free Library Director and Denis Dahlgren, ACAF Executive Director.
The Allegany County Area Foundation recently awarded a $190.56 grant to the Andover Free Library. This award was made possible from the earnings of the Doris O. Church Fund held by the Foundation since 1999. These annual grant awards are used to provide financial assistance for the Andover Free Library.
In December of 1998 Connie Church wrote this about Doris O. Church, "Doris O. Church taught in the Andover Central School system for 30 years, retiring in 1975.  Prior to that she taught in Bath, Alfred Station, and Jasper for 10 years.  She also worked at Worthington Corporation for two years during World War II, in the war effort.  She has hundreds of former students who, we are sure, will remember her as an outstanding teacher. She lived in Andover for many years, and supported all the Andover activities.  Also, Doris and her family have been boosters and supporters of the Andover library."

The Andover Free library is located at 40 Main Street in Andover. For more information about this library, please visit their web site at: http://www.andoverfreelibrary.org.
The Allegany County Area Foundation holds assets over 9 million dollars and continues to add new funds each year. The endowed funds continue to grow in perpetuity to enrich and improve the lives of our Allegany County citizens.
