David was born Oct. 26, 1970, in Wellsville, N.Y., the son
of William and Margaret (Lanphere) McQueen. He was a 1988 graduate of Scio
Central School. He began his career at Dresser-Rand in Wellsville and later
worked for more than 16 years as a line technician for Verizon.
He is survived by his mother, Margaret (Ford) Easton of St.
Petersburg, Fla.; three sisters, Sheryl (Dave) McIntire of Harrison Valley,
Pa.; Sandra McQueen, and Debra (Michael) Quinn, both of Wellsville, N.Y..;
several aunts and uncles; nieces, nephews, and cousins; his loving companion
Michelle Webster of Belmont, N.Y., her children, and their son Steven.
David was predeceased by his father, William A. McQueen in
1991; his sister Rhonda Burrous in 2007, a brother in law James Burrous in 2017;
maternal grandparents, Emerson and Doris (Engberg) Lanphere; paternal
grandparents, Claude and Dora (Black) McQueen; and aunt, Bonnie (McQueen)
Haberly.
An avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish, David
traveled many places to pursue his passion, and was affectionately known by
many nicknames, including “Queenie” and “Turkey Man” and “Fingers”. All who knew David will remember his
larger-than-life personality and unforgettable spirit. In his own words, he “lived
life in full color”. He will be dearly missed by his family and many close
friends.
A celebration of life for David will be held at Island Park
in Wellsville (Lagoon Pavilion) on Sunday, Aug 20. Friends are invited to
gather with the family starting at 12:30 p.m. with a service being held at 2:00 p.m.
