390 Stop Leads to Drug Charges for Wanted Hornell Man

INTERSTATE 390: Livingston County Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Hornell man after a traffic stop on Interstate 390. On August 11, 2017 at approximately 6:10 p.m., Deputy Brandan Flickner was patrolling Interstate 390 as part of the Sheriff’s Office initiative “Operation Safe Interstate.”  The Deputy Sheriff stopped a vehicle for a NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law violation and identified the driver as 35-year-old Keith J. Drury of Hornell.   Drury and the vehicle were both suspended, police said. Drury was ultimately taken into custody for the charges of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree and Operating with a Suspended Registration, and Operating a Vehicle Without Insurance.
A subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly yielded the discovery of six individual bags of crack cocaine. This led to a further charge of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree.  It was also found that Drury had an active warrant out of Monroe County.
Drury was turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention. Drury was later arraigned in the Town of Geneseo Court before Justice Houston.  The Judge remanded Drury to the custody of the Sheriff on $1,000 cash or $2,000 secured bond.
