Harold R. “Red” Fauzey, 93 passed away Monday (Feb. 13, 2017) at Wellsville Manor Care Center.
Mr. Fauzey was born on Dec. 5, 1923 in Huston, Pa. to Lyle and Maude (Lewis) Fauzey. He served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II. On June 7, 1947, at the First Trinity Lutheran Church in Wellsville, he married Leona A. Fanton, who predeceased him on Aug. 10, 2000.
Red worked as a welder for Air Preheater in Wellsville for 23 years until his retirement in 1986. He previously worked for Bradley Oil in Wellsville as an excavator and equipment operator.
Red is survived by one son, Harold R. “Butch” Fauzey, Jr. of Palmyra; one daughter, Carla L. Eisenhauer of Wellsville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by three sisters, Ruth Armstrong, Betty Dorrett and May Hicklin; and four brothers, Willard Fauzey, Art Fauzey, Everett Fauzey and Leslie Fauzey.
Red loved to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed working on stock cars. As his struggle with illness continued, Red came to understand the grace and love of God and now lives with Him.
Per his wishes, there will be no prior visitation. A spring time memorial service with full military honors will be held at a future date to be determined. Burial will be in Stannards Cemetery.
