Obituary: George J. McNulty Jr., 83, Wellsville

WELLSVILLE - George J. McNulty Jr., 83, of 3276 First St., died Tuesday (Feb. 14, 2017) at the Hart Comfort House, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born June 28, 1933, in Chicago, the son of the late George and Helen Dennis McNulty Sr. On July 27, 1957, in Wellsville, he married Judith Kohsiek, who survives.
George's family moved to Wellsville when he was 5. He attended Immaculate Conception School and Wellsville High School, then received an associate degree from Alfred State College. He was a veteran of the
Korean War, serving with the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956. He was employed at Worthington, Turbodyne and Dresser-Rand for 46 years, retiring in 1998.
He was a life member and past commander of the Morrison Hayes Post 702 American Legion, past county commander of the American Legion and member of the 40 & 8. He was a coach for the Wellsville Little League and Legion Junior Baseball League, and he enjoyed playing golf.
In addition to his wife of 60 years, he is survived by two sons, Robert, and his wife, Robin, and Michael, and his wife, Pamela; two daughters, Theresa and Christine; three grandsons, Michael, Kenneth and Shawn, and his wife, Katrina; two granddaughters, Ashley, and her husband, Knox, and Kendre; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc., 34 W. State St. in Wellsville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday (Feb. 20, 2017) in the Immaculate Conception Church in Wellsville. Military honors will follow the Mass, and burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
