Alfred: Guard rail penetrates vehicle-car bursts into flames

Charges: Driving while intoxicated, Failures to keep right, Speed not reasonable or prudent.

Details of the Incident:  Mower was traveling at a high rate of speed on Waterwells Road in the town of Alfred. Mowers vehicle crossed the center line and struck a guard rail on the other side of the roadway causing the guide rail to penetrate the vehicle from the front. The vehicle traveled down the guide rail until it came out the trunk. The vehicle then caught on fire. Mower was able to get out of the car and was pulled to safety by a citizen that lived nearby and personnel of the Alfred Police Department. Mower was charged with driving while intoxicated and other counts and was issued appearance tickets to appear in court at a later date.
