Obituary: Titus C. Risser, 84, Ellisburg


Titus C. Risser, 84, of Ellisburg, PA, went to be with the Lord with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 in Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, PA.  Born September 26, 1932, in Derry Township, Hershey, PA, he was the son of Harry A. and Sarah Curry Risser.  On December 6, 1958, in Cleona Brethren in Christ Church, he married the former Arlene S. Myers, who survives.  A 1950 graduate of Middletown High School, he served honorably with US Army in Panama during the Korean War.  Titus and his wife, Arlene, owned and operated a dairy farm in Ellisburg for many years.  He was a member of the Ellisburg Union Wesleyan Church and the Potter County Holstein Association.  He formerly served on the board of the directors for Agway, First Citizens National Bank in Genesee, and on the Ellisburg Church Board.  He had a passion for Oliver tractors and was a Philadelphia Phillies fan.  Surviving besides his wife, Arlene, are:  four sons, Kevin (Martha) Risser of Coudersport, Kenneth (Lori) Risser of Ulysses, Fred (Connie) Risser of Andrews Settlement, and David (Nelsa) Risser of Ellisburg;  12 grandchildren;  23 great-grandchildren;  two sisters, Adella (Franklin) Wagner of Hummelstown, PA and Ilda (Marvin) Nauman of Lebanon, PA;  one step-sister, Joyce Biemesderfer of Mechanicsburg, PA;  two step-brothers, James  Biemesderfer of Reading, PA and Robert (Shirley) Biemesderfer of Colorado Springs,CO;  nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his step-mother, Edna Risser;  a sister, Dorothy (Alvin) Ebersole;  a step-sister, Velma (Earl) Leonard of Camp Hill, PA.  Friends may call at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA on Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.  Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Ellisburg Union Wesleyan Church.  The Rev. Roy Ward will officiate.  Burial will be in Genesee Cemetery.  Military Rites will be accorded by members of the Potter County Honor Guard.  Memorials may be made to the Genesee Volunteer Ambulance, P.O.
