Belfast man receives probation for multiple burglaries

A Belfast man was sentenced in Allegany County court today to 5-7 years of probation after he pleaded guilty to multiple felony counts of burglary. Mark Burlingame, 27, of King Street admitted to the crimes which include - breaking into the China Star restaurant in Caneadea and stealing $50; breaking into Mel's Chainsaws in  New Hudson twice and stealing money and property; and giving a false statement to a State Police Investigator. Judge Thomas Brown sentenced the man to a probation term of 5-7 years and told him he must cough up $709.59 in restitution and he must pay a surcharge of $650.
