Born April 23, 1951, in Westfield, he was the son of Leo and Marian Virginia Troutman Baker. A U.S. Army Veteran, he served honorably from May 15, 1970 – December 29, 1971. He was employed as an inspector at nuclear power plants and as an x-ray technician on pipeline construction. Leo was a member of Carl E. Hyde American Legion Post #963 in Ulysses and Loyal Order of Moose in Galeton.
Surviving are: a daughter, Sheila Monroe of Genesee; a grandson, Zach (Samantha) Monroe of Genesee; a great-granddaughter, Brinlee Monroe; a great-grandson, Jensen Monroe; two sisters, Nettie White of Ulysses and Mary (Ted) Orwig of Galeton; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three siblings, Cora Main, Jack Baker, and Merton Baker.
Services are private and by invitation only. Military Rites will be accorded by members of the Potter County Honor Guard. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery.
