After several months of investigation, it was revealed that Roger L. Cobin, age 34, of Angelica, NY, allegedly had sexual contact with both victims on multiple occasions over the course of a year.
On September 27, 2024, the New York State Police received a Steuben County Superior Court Warrant of Arrest for Cobin. The listed charges were two counts of Rape 1st (B Felony), Rape 2nd (D Felony), Sexual Abuse 1st (D Felony), Rape 3rd (E Felony), and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (A Misdemeanor).
On October 16, 2024, Cobin was processed at SP Wayland on all charges related to this incident. Cobin was transported to the Steuben County Superior Court and arraigned by Honorable Patrick McAllister. Protection Orders were issued to both victims and Cobin was remanded to the Steuben County Jail with bail set at $60,000 cash, $120,000 secured property bond, and $180,000 partially secured bond.
