The Cuba Police Department is proud to serve our residents with professionalism, accountability, and transparency. We continue to train and to improve our agency in all aspects of policing. We are committed to compliance with the Governor’s Police Reform and Reinvention Collaborative. A large part of this collaborative is transparency. The following empirical data is taken from our records of arrests from the past 15 years (violations, misdemeanors and felonies). It should be noted that this is our true and accurate raw numbers. These numbers represent the amount of arrests made in the past 15 years but the population percentages for all ethnicities change from year to year. Many of these arrests are also of individuals who do not live in our jurisdiction. The break down is as follows:

As we see across the country, many areas are alleging the targeting of minority groups by law enforcement. Here in Cuba, those types of scenarios simply are not supported by the true and accurate arrest data. The supervisors, officers, investigators and school resource officers of the Cuba Police Department serve all citizens of our jurisdiction and those passing through or visiting professionally, regardless of race, gender, or ethnicity. We want to see our community thrive while maintaining a peaceful, welcoming atmosphere for all who live, work or visit Cuba. I am proud to say I think we are accomplishing that mission. As always, we will work every day to make our agency as a whole better. Thank you to all of our residents who continue to show support for us during these times. We look forward to a safe holiday season and an even better 2021!
