Allegany County: "Flossie" case doesn't overshadow Cornelius murder from 2017

A cold case from 34-years-ago won't overshadow an Allegany County murder case from 2017. In 1985, an elderly woman from Angelica disappeared. This week, police are acting on an alleged confession on what happened to Flossie Wilbur of Angelica and where her remains may be. Law enforcement has brought in huge resources to find the remains.
However, this month also marks another murder case, where the leads have fallen short.
In July 2017, Wellsville Regional News first reported the murder of Raymond Cornelius, 82, of Wadsworth Hill Road in Ward. His body was found inside his home by concerned family. There was a massive State Police response for many months. However, leads faded, other serious cases came in...and the family has been left wondering. Every month, a family member calls Amity-based Investigators. Every month, the answer remains unchanged...'nothing new.' Someone, knows something. This elderly father can't die without a conclusion. The hope is...if Flossie's killer was potentially found decades later...perhaps the same goal can be achieved for Mr. Cornelius, just a little sooner.
