Alfred Mayor extends State of Emergency

From the Alfred mayor...
The Village of Alfred and all of Allegany County is entering the second week of Phase 2 in the reopening New York and our local communities.  Please let us all remain mindful of and practice the standards of slowing the spread of the coronavirus, with masking, congregating only with social distancing and in groups no larger than 10.  Over the weekend, Allegany County DOH reported three more documented cases of Covid-19 and the number of cases is still climbing all over the US.  It is essential that we work together within our various purviews to keep one another and ourselves safe and healthy.

As of today, I will be extending the State of Emergency declaration for another 30 days.  I look forward to the day when we will have worked together in all levels of government in New York State to remove the threat.  Under those circumstances we will be able to relax a bit, but not entirely, until there is a vaccine.
