Houghton --- Jane M. Flowers, a former resident of Michigan,
died Monday, September 2, 2019 in Houghton. She was born on October 21, 1935 in
Wilmington, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Charlie and Sallie Congleton
Holland. On February 27, 1953 she married Durwood Flowers who predeceased her
on June 16, 1996.
Jane was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority and a
former bank manager in Oscoda, Michigan. She loved to play cards with Janice
and Libby, fish, eat all types of seafood, traveling with her granddaughter
Denise, her special dog Missy and just being an all-around fun person.
Surviving are her daughters, Della M. Marcoullier of
Michigan, Theresa A. Wilbert of Michigan, Linda C. (Eric) Rosebury of
Wisconsin, seven grandchildren, Denise, Michael, Hanna, Dona, Chelsey,
Jonathan, Erica, 14 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Charles Holland of
Florida, Joe Holland of North Carolina and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased
by a daughter, Connie J. Flowers.
A memorial gathering will be held at the convenience of the
family. Burial will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Michigan. Memorials
if desired to: the donor’s local SPCA.
