New county administrator comes to Allegany County

The Allegany County Legislature on Monday will likely appoint a new county administrator. Timothy Boyd, who currently holds the job, said recently he will retire. On Monday county lawmakers are expected to hire Deborah "Debbie" McDonnell of Ohio as the new administrator. She will earn $124,000 a year. Curt Crandall chairs the legislature and told Wellsville Regional News "she (McDonnell) has an extensive background in city management." He added that she will "bring a good flavor to Allegany County." Crandall said "Debbie takes a different view...and outside view." The chairman of the legislature said he expects an unanimous vote of support from his colleagues. If approved, McDonnell will assume the position Tuesday, June 11th.
Some twenty people applied for the position, including some local folks, but Crandall said they did not meet the criteria.
