Assistant U.S. Attorney Sean C. Eldridge, who handled the
case, stated that On May 16, 2018, a package from California was sent to the
defendant at his home in Watkins Glen. Inspectors with the U.S. Postal
inspection Service obtained a search warrant for the package, which was found
to contain approximately 55 grams of crystal (pure) methamphetamine. Wiesner
contacted the Watkins Glen Post Office on several occasions between May 16,
2018, and May 22, 2018, attempting to locate and pick up the package. On May
23, 2018, the defendant went to the Watkins Glen Post Office and retrieved a
package that was filled with sham. Shortly after exiting the post office,
Wiesner was arrested. The defendant admitted that he purchased the
methamphetamine from the dark web, and that he intended to sell it.
The sentencing is the result of an investigation by the U.S.
Postal Inspection Service, under the direction of Boston Division
Inspector-in-Charge Joseph W. Cronin, with assistance from the New York State
Police.
