Press Release from Olean Mayor Aiello regarding pets

August 16, 2018—Olean—William J. Aiello, Mayor of the City of Olean, would like to remind residents about the City Ordinances regarding pets.  Dogs and cats cannot run at large and must be restrained by an adequate leash when not on the owner’s property.  In addition, the pet owner is required to pick-up and properly dispose of any unsanitary waste from their pet.
“We love pets in City of Olean, as loyal friends and perpetual optimists, pets are an important part of Olean’s population,” Mayor Aiello said.  “The ordinances are in place to keep both our pets and our residents safe, and our sidewalks free from debris.”
Additional information and regulations regarding pets can be found in the City’s Code of Ordinances, Section 5.  The City’s Code of Ordinances is conveniently located on the City’s website:  www.cityofolean.org.
