The Village of Wellsville is undergoing a project updating its mapping of the entire Water system for use when specific water valves or piping needs to be located accurately. The project entails finding the valves at each house in the Village and marking it with either blue paint or a blue flag, and then surveyors come with specialized equipment and document each valve’s location with electronic GPS satellite coordinates.
Each satellite location is then electronically mapped for
future use when valves and piping need to be located and can then be pinpointed
much faster and with fewer personnel.
