Olean: Road work will slow traffic on N Union Street Ext.

Starting Monday, July 9, 2018, the NYS Department of Transportation’s contractor will begin milling North Union Street Extension (from the bridge over Olean Creek to the City line). This work should take about 2-3 days.
The contractor is scheduled to return to pave the street on Monday, July 23, 2018.  Paving should be completed in 3-4 days. The street will remain open but traffic will be reduced to one lane as this work is undertaken. The surface of the road will be a rough milled surface with bumps at the transition of the milled and unmilled surfaces. There will be no detour.  Motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes, if possible, as it will be congested at times and to drive slowly and safely.
