“Your donation with the Community Blood Bank directly
impacts the blood supply at this hospital. In essence, your generosity could
impact the life of a family member, friend, or neighbor,” says Lora Cope mobile
drive coordinator. “It takes less than an hour to give the priceless gift of
life.”
The drive is open to the community. Eligible donors should
be healthy, over 110 pounds, and be at least 17 years of age or 16 with a
parental consent. In addition, a 56-day time period is required from previous
donations. Appointments are not necessary, but can be made if preferred.
Donors are encouraged to eat a nutritious meal within
approximately four hours prior to the drive. Free snacks and beverages to
replenish a donor’s energy will be available following a donation. A holiday
treat will also be given to all screened donors.
