Allegany County: Former Independence Ambulance Treasurer sentenced on felony theft count

The man who was entrusted with guarding the money of the Independence Emergency Squad in Whitesville will not go to jail after he stole thousands of dollars from the all volunteer agency. In Allegany County court Tuesday, Scott A. Luce, 33, of Main Street in Genesee, PA was sentenced to a three year conditional discharge. Judge Thomas Brown also directed Luce to make restitution in the amount of $11,969.64. He must also pay a court surcharge of 325 and a DNA fee of $50.
Prosecutors said that between December 12, 2013 and October 21, 2014, Luce stole more than $10,000 from the agency. He was charged with felony 3rd degree grand larceny. Luce is currently a member of the Genesee (PA) volunteer ambulance service.
