Wellsville: Harvest Dinner to Benefit Hurricane Relief

Folks at the Grace United Church in Wellsville host a Harvest Dinner every year.  But this year is different.  “When we heard about the needs of people affected by the hurricanes, we knew we had to do something,” said Dale Johnson, Chairman of the Grace United General Board.  “So, we voted to donate all proceeds to hurricane relief.”
The dinner will be held Saturday, October 28th at 6 p.m. at the church at 289 North Main Street in Wellsville.  Dinner will be oven roasted ham, homegrown squash, scalloped potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, and freshly baked bread followed by either pumpkin or apple pie. The candlelight dinner also features music by pianist Jim Knapp.
Local craftspeople have donated items for the bazaar table located in the front hall.  There will be opportunities to buy raffle tickets for a spectacular fall harvest basket or a beautiful photograph by local photographer Joe Tecza.
“We know people enjoy coming to this event,” said Johnson.  “Now they can have a great meal, great entertainment, great conversation, and know their contribution goes directly to help others.”  Tickets may be purchased by calling the church at 593-5015 or from any church member.
