Red had grown up in the Penn Yan area and attended school
there. Following school he moved to Rochester where he drove truck for A.J.
Altman for several years. He then moved to the Delevan area where he was
employed at the Circle C. Ranch for the next 14 years. There, following his
Lord, he served in ministry and was known as Sheriff "Red." He
continued his ministry in the Belfast, Angelica and Hume Baptist Churches.
He enjoyed reading his bible, listening to gospel music, outdoors
activities and interesting Sunday drives. Most of all he loved his Lord, his
family and spending time with them.
He attended the Belfast, Angelica and Hume Baptist Churches.
Surviving are two sons; five daughters; several
grandchildren and several great grandchildren; a sister, Mable Shattuck of
Belfast; and several nieces and nephews.
Red was predeceased by brothers, William Shattuck and Howard
Shattuck; and two sisters, Elma Cassidy and Leloa Earlywine.
Friends are invited
to attend a graveside service on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the
Riverside Cemetery, Belfast. The Rev. Jonathan Finly, Pastor of the Rushford
1st Baptist Church will officiate. Memorials may be made to Comfort House of
Allegany Co. 141 East State St. Wellsville, New York 14895. Arrangements are
under the direction of the Treusdell Funeral Home, Belfast.
