When Friendship police arrived on scene, according to radio reports, he confirmed smoke and flames. He was also able to determine that the occupants were not inside. Moments later, the officer reported several small explosions, which he attributed to potentially ammunition inside the home.
Additional assistance to fight the flames was requested from Belmont, Clarksville and Angelica. As firefighters battled the blaze, the occupants retuned home. Allegany County Fire Investigators responded to the scene and the cause remains under review.
