In less than 48 hours, a second Wellsville building has been crashed by a motor vehicle. At about 5:30 p.m. Sunday, 911 called Wellsville police and told them a vehicle had just struck Park Plaza Liquor, caused "considerable" damage, then fled the scene. Police responded to the area and were told the suspect vehicle had parked at adjacent Giant Food Mart. Wellsville Regional News watched as patrols rolled into the Giant Food lot. A female was interviewed and given what appeared to be standard field sobriety tests. Moments later, police radioed 911 and said they had a women in custody for driving while intoxicated. D&J wrecker service was called to impound the vehicle. Wellsville Regional News returned to the Park Plaza lot as the store manager arrived, clearly not happy. She attempted to entered the store, but the damage would not allow her to open the door. Product was observed tossed to the floor. We'll have additional information when police release a statement.
UPDATE: Still don't have the name of the driver, but the woman was just arraigned and remanded to the Allegany County Jail.
