Wellsville: Village pushes for property tax payment extension

With little debate and by a unanimous vote, the Wellsville Village Board Monday approved sending a notice to the governor requesting that the due date for the payment of property taxes be extended twenty-one days beyond the July 1st deadline. Mayor Randy Shayler said it was only a request...but one he hoped would be honored.
In other items from the Monday meeting:

1. The Memorial Day parade will be canceled but a ceremony at Memorial park will still be held.
2. The fire contract with the town government is nearing ratification. The mayor said it is about 95% complete. He credited progress on trustee's Monroe and Fahs as well as town council member Graves and Supervisor Alsworth.
3. The village is still investigating an overnight parking ban for Island park.
