The
virtual activity will start at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 31, through a livestream over
the Journey to Transformation Facebook page at www.facebook.com/TransformationJourneyUSA.
This
is the first prayer gathering the group has held since start of the coronavirus
pandemic, having canceled its March event due to COVID-19. It had held monthly prayer gatherings
concerning various focus areas at different churches in the county prior to
that time. The gathering is designed to “join our hearts and voices in one accord for the needs in our county and for praying for a powerful work of God's Spirit among us,” according to Pastor Gene Miller of Yorks Corners Mennonite Church, coalition vice-chair. “We continue to pray in expectant faith to a good God who hears and answers prayer.”
Pentecost,
celebrated 50 days after Easter Sunday, commemorates the descent of the Holy
Spirit upon the Apostles and other followers of Jesus Christ while they were in
Jerusalem celebrating the Feast of Weeks, as described in the Book of Acts of
the Bible It represents the birth of
the early church.
