The New York State Police at SP Painted Post and the Town of
Caton Police Department, are investigating a series of residential burglaries
occurring over the past weeks.
Initial investigations reveal that suspect(s) entered
multiple houses on Sagetown Road and Riff Road, stealing various property. The
items stolen included a number of firearms. The suspect(s) appear to be
targeting houses that are unoccupied, such as seasonal camp residences or
“family estate” type residences.
The New York State Police remind the public that any firearms
left behind in unoccupied residences should be properly secured.
