Twenty six studios hosting the 32 Artisans will have one of
a kind, superbly hand crafted items on display and for sale just in time for
your buy local Christmas shopping. This group of potters, painters, jewelers,
fiber artists and more offers an eclectic array of functional and fine art to suit
the personal style of just about everyone.
What’s more is that
most will be holding scheduled and impromptu demonstrations of their artistic
process. You will find paintings in progress, pottery in all stages of building
and firing, and jewelry molds being poured.
You might get to meet the Alpaca who donated the fleece that is now the
hat and mittens that feel so soft I your hand, or find the mug just right for
your morning coffee, or the earrings that make just the right statement about
who you are. An artistic sculpture or watercolor or oil painting may be the
wedding gift you have been looking for.
Even though it is our 32nd year, there is always
something and some one new on the tour, bringing exiting new work. Many of the
Artisans are highly awarded in their medium, some considered international
experts. All are subject to a jury
process to participate, thus ensuring the best possible quality of work
available to our visitors.
Each year the Allegany Artisans Studio Tour combines the
best of area shopping with a wonderful road trip, filled with leaf peeping,
sight seeing, and dining in some amazing local restaurants. Come join us for
